Welcome to mud mate That's a nice ex army vehicle you have There are a couple of good ones on here if you need info just ask and some one will reply

Hey catskinner. Nice troopy and welcome to 'Mud. Hell of a blade on that D5 [?]. What are the specs of your truck mate?

unfortunately the old troopys parts are flung for miles around and the tub went to china, I ended up buying it from my boss but I was young and didn't know what I had. I still have the 2h that's going into a 72 fj45 with 5 speed, disc front end and hj75 rear end.

cult close its a d6c with a 18ft stick rake [root rake in usa] it has a direct drive gearbox [manual] instead of powershift [like automatic] which is very good for raking and logging

right hand side was stoved in from a excavater while fueling

Hi Catskinner,
Welcome to the mud. It did look a nice old cruiser until the excavater rearranged it. As for the bullbars they all came out with the ones made from 30mm x10mm flat bar, but they all seem to have different bars fitted during their service life. I see it also has the winch. The bulbar on mine I thought was home made but when finding others the same on the net it carn't be. I plan to make a better one.

Oh well a D5 was close. Still, I hope your back's ok ;) Yeah a slewing digger can wipe out lots of things, including HJ47's unfortunately.

Don't tell anyone but my old man had a SIII Ex Army Land Rover with a 3.9L Isuzu motor in it. Many memories riding around in the back. So what are you plans for the old girl? Or you focusing more on the FJ45? Post some more pics of what you've got mate.

Did you go bush with your old man in the landie very often , the camo 47 i sold years ago as a wreck with no motor she is no more.
Aussie it did have a pto tomas winch that was busted, one more think i remeber it didnt have anything below the rear turret in the tub just a big hole early frosty mornings on the way to work were fresh, before i started with the company it still had the soft top even more fresh at 5am
Cult i have a few more 45s a 1963, the72 and a 74 with styleside plus hj75 and have owned 1979 hj45 with h motor the camo one and 1983 hj47 rusted job, i sold the 79 83 and camo off as one lot years ago when i lost interest. kickin myself now as i need some parts for the 2h conversion

..and what are you doing with the '63? ;)

cult the 63 is something I will have to restore as it is somewhat of a basket case I didn't pay a lot for it for what it is as I have all the parts to repair it, it has original engine, seats and cluster which usually are swaped out. there was another 1963 45 in better nick about 2km from my house that had been on that farm since 1963 but the ol cowcocky wouldn't sell it to me as he thought I was to young and would ruin it and he was probably right and it was sold a few years ago when I had lost intrest in old cruisers, still kickin my self and always will

Hopefully the other one went to a good home and not to Sims.

nice little collection catskinner. i hate scrappys! looking at a very very battered local army 47 myself but he wants $$. body has been hacked off behind the cab and very ugly homemade tray fitted. your old tub might have been the goods to put it back together (for someone with more skills than me!) post some pics of your 63. thats the sort of language i talk. am wrecking a couple from this era, but many of the 'trinkets' are gone. good that you have the seats; they are hard to find. interested in a pic off the chassis on your 63. seems west aust ones had about 100mm added to the chassis near the rear cab mount. i dont know why. ozcruiser posted pic off an east coast one without this extension. pics off all this in my 64 patina thread. interested what yours has. also interested if your 63 roof is flat or ribbed? seems to me toyota ran ribbed roofs for a while in 63 but 62 and 64 seem flat. cheers.

My chassis has an extension too lads.

Where is she extended cult?
West oz my 63 is a roofless wonder but i have a 64 cab for spares that had a flat roof
Is there any old ex caratti or bells d8 or d9's around your parts over there, maybe one or two of there old macks aswell im talkin about 1950s early 60s gear

Hold up, I'll see if I can find a pic.

No pics I'm afraid, but it's behind the cab. I'll try get one this weekend.

catskinner still interested in a pic of your chassis extension when you get the chance; just to compare the workmanship etc. also does your 63 have the little flick up locks for the rear sliding windows? my 64 does and 62 doesnt

c'mon catskinner; give us a pic of your chassis extension to compare.

alberta mac - i cant nut why they did it; its always intrigued me. done from the dealership to most it seems but definately not all. hardly seems worth the effort. pics of mine in my project patina thread on the 45 page.
