Some firends and I did a little trip round the south coast of Western Australia last week taking 8 days and 2500klms.
It was mainly a road trip and the vehicles were my 75 series towing a trailer with my Honda XR650L,a diesel 105 series and 3 Harley softails.
One of our 1st stops was Cowarumup Bay ,just out of Margeret River, about 400klms from Perth
2nd pic shows the WA coast looking north from the southern extremity
3rd pic is the vehicles missing one hog(he caught up the next day).
There was meant to be more pics. I seem to have lost some but there is a few more.
You can see how the weather turned hot and stormy and even rained a little. I think this is Twilight Beach on Ocean Rd,just a few klms east of Esperance.
The French landed here in 1788 and considered claiming west aust as their own.
2nd pic is at Whistling Rock(couldnt here anything on the day) in the Bay of Isles loking south into the Southern Ocean.
3rd pic My friends enjoying a beer while we aired up the tyres .We had just driven 20klms on the beach to get to Le Grande national park
We had the use of this fishing storage shed, the front half was fitted out as a house and had all the mod cons and a great view of Bandy Creek fishing harbour (all for free).
It had no furniture so we dragged our chairs and the car fridges inside. The gas tank for the stove was empty so I brought in my Weber and cooked roast beef, steak and italian sausages on the front verandah
The view from the front window
The fishing boats go out and head east for shark ,shellfish and other fish.
I saw some interesting 4wds but only managed to get a few shots
I snapped the 6 wheeler disco in the main st of Esperance. It appeared to have European plates.
The 45 series was on the beach near the boat habour. Its an Arkana bodied model, from the same factory in Perth where Rideglobally's dual cab came from.
It had dual fuel tanks and a water tank. These are much roomier than a standard troopy and are lic for an extra passenger
2 more pics midway in the trip.
1st one is between Wapole and Denmark at a roadblock in the Karri forest. The 3 hr roadblock was in place until the airiel water bombers had finished extinguishing a bush fire. We then had to wait while observers were sure the fire would not erupt again.
Its hard to see,but nearly all those vehicles behind us were Toyotas
2nd pic is at a friends house in a demolished caravan and camping ground waiting to be sold off for housing in Denmark. It was on the edge of a large lake that empties into the ocean but those are in the missing pics group.
Behind the house is the centruries old Bibbulam 1000 klm walking track used by Aboriginals and recently restored by prisoners for all to use. I opened the window while having a shower and could talk to the walkers
