My changer won't play nor eject disc 1-3 , it says error 3 on the display. Has anyone had this problem? disc 4 plays and ejects fine. i'm not wanting to put anymore disc in 5 and 6.

hmmm that happened to me on my Corolla, I had to unplug the battery with the switch on on... just make sure the only thing on is the radio and all the little lights on the dash are off. It sorta resets itself.. if that doesn't work you might have to take it to the dealer.

you know I had a problem loading a disc into my player...It was a real CD, NOT a burned one and the player will not take it.....I tried others and they work fine...this one has a thick label on the top of it,,,maybe too thick??? I wonder if it did take it if it would ever come back out...

leave it unplugged for about 15 min. so The ECU has time to reset just in case it's some line in the ECU cd player comand line crashed, and it never hurts to reset the ECU to adjust faster to changes after break in.

Time to get a new head unit. I had the same issue on my 4Runner. It started from time to time, than would go away. Had the dealer look at it initially, but the problem went away when they looked at it. Eventually it got progressively worse. I finally took it in when the CD changer got stuck. Turns out the changer mechanism was faulty. Dealer replaced the head unit adn it has been fine since, 3 years or so now.

So I suggest just get the whole unit changed, the mechanism will only get worse. Gives you error 3 and then if you leave if off for some time it resets itself and start working again. Does it take long to change disks from time to time? Does it sometime try to change to a disk and then just goes to the next one?
