From the Salida Mountain Mail:

Mechanic/Parts Locator
Looking for skilled auto mechanic with knowledge of parts. Toyota Land Cruiser and 4x4 experience is a definite plus. Strong mechanical and parts background and work ethic required. Should have own tools. Duties include locating and pulling parts from vehicles in our inventory, cleaning, inspecting and testing as necessary. Some actual mechanical work on customer vehicles depending on workload. Some packing, crating and shipping. Pay commensurate with experience. Send resume to Classic Cruisers, 7722 CR 150 Salida, CO 81201. 719-539-7722

or a side job for Juane. actually sounds like it could be fun! Greg is a good suggestion too. lots of LC and 4x4 experience there with both of you!

Nice resource for my engine transplant!
Could trade labor for skill.

You recon the challenges of digging around in their parts yard a few hours every day in January is the reason they need a new mechanic?

I can barely muster the motivation to change the oil inside my semi-heated garage this time of year and we are nowhere near as cold as Salida. No thanks... I'll keep my day job. ;-)

[ not that anyone would hire me to wrench on junk anyway ... ]

This might be a good possible gig for Greg.

Not too far away either...

Sounds appealing. Problem is 1) I have no professional resume for auto work (just 25 years of wrenching on my and other peoples' junk) and 2) I have about a months' contract work at $65/hr that I'm not wanting to put in peril for what might be a $12/hr (or less) job.

Juane, do you know how quickly he wants to fill the position and would you be a reference for me? ;-)
