inkpot said:Howdy! actaully, yesterday we went up to the old Smithsonian Solar Observatory on top of Harquahala Mountain, about 40 miles north of Tonopah. Lots of fun. Several ruins and mines along the way. Road has lots of hairpins and steep, rocky hills, but not extemely challenging. View from the top is great. 5700ft, no clouds or wind. May have to make a prospecting run up that way soon, since gold is now at $500+ per ounce. John
3 years ago I took my little girl up there, and we had snow... Good views there too. Nice slab-o-concrete near the top too, huh?
