Eldrid River Valley

Greetings!

As luck would have it, I have to be in Powell River for work mid April. I've been here a couple times before, but been in my work vehicle and couldn't explore too far off the pavement. So this time, I'm bringing the 80 (coming from Victoria)

Since I started climbing when I was younger, I've always wanted to checkout the Eldrid River Valley, so I'm going to take a few extra days and head out for some camping and exploring. No climbing this go around though

Any suggestions for must see's in the area? Open to other possibilities in the neighbourhood too!

I haven't lived there for ~25 years now (born and raised), but there is a massive system of logging roads that lead to several awesome lakes. One of the old trails I used to 4x4 on was up to the top of Tin Hat mountain, had great views down onto Powell Lake.

Best bet is to grab the Backroads mapbook for the area and pick something. The locals there have their own website at Powell River 4x4 - Weekend Wheeling so sign up and ask away.
