I have had this little saw for a number of years, it has been abused terribly clearing brush and all matter of stuff, the engine runs great but today the chain started binding up, the bar is fine, the oiler is fine, it seems to be the drive sprocket, like a bushing or bearing went south.
It's only a $100 saw so will probably just replace it but what kind of cool gadget could I make with a chainsaw motor, I hate to just toss it:idea:

How does ,what I am guessing is the clutch, come off the shaft, is there a snap ring?

Yup, exactly what Tony said, $50 bucks,It was raining today so I dropped it off at Tony's lanmower shop , will have a brand new clutch, drive gear and a tune up, and install my new chain, I figured for $50 I would let somebody else do it:) my chain saw always makes me happy.

Thanks for the advise!

Hey, Dave T, Oakhurst, man I love that town, my brother, nephew and me went and did half dome, it was a quick weekend trip, last summer, got a hotel for friday night, figured to make the hike on Saturday then head home Sat night, kicked our collective asses, we needed a room for Saturday night, we stopped in a little cafe on ( main st ?) run by an Armenian Guy, only place open that late, we ate, couldnt find a room anywhere, there is this guy at the bar, local guy, nephew remembers his name, I dont, hears our plight, says he knows a lady getting ready to open a B&B might be able to help us, its 1am! he calls her, she says she can help, so we follow this guy, nephew keeps telling me to not follow he is taking us to our DOOM, I have friends with me so I am not to concerened, we end up in some little town, cant remember the name Nippiwawawa, Zippydodod, fawk, I dont know, lady is standing outside this future B&B to be, she says $50.00 bucks! I couldnt get the money out fast enough, Absolutely the best shower and nights sleep I have ever had!

I Love Oakhurst:cheers:

 tourist......

You probably stayed in Nipinnawasee. There is several B & B's out there. As far as the restaurant you probably ate at the Velvet Rose. That is the only one with Armenian background that I know of, and I'm Armenian as well. They are out of business now.
