I didn't get ripped off or anything but was unable to leave feedback after our dealings so thought I'd let the members know about it here.
So I committed to buy an FJ40 muffler, hood rest cushion, license plate light and gas pedal pad.
Everything was going fine communication wise till I was invoiced. I had been quoted $95.00 shipping to New Zealand but was being charged $190.00.
I figured it was clerical so asked the seller to change the invoice.
He seemed fine with that but weeks went by and all of my follow up messages and emails were ignored.
Next thing I have 4 unpaid item investigations against me.
I dealt with so many customer service reps over the following two weeks. Some good, some not so. The common theme was that I was not at fault as I had done everything I could and had been ignored. He didn't even bother to reply to eBay.
Eventually the cases were closed and removed from my account but I wasn't able to leave feedback.
It was a waste of a month of my time and I really wanted those parts.
A couple of weeks later I thought I'd try again and asked for a shipping price for the muffler I'd asked about 1 month earlier. He replied with a figure of $118.70 shipping to NZ. 1 month earlier it was $50.00.
Go figure.
Such a shame as I'm sure a number of you have had good dealings with him.
It's bloody hard restoring a 1970 FJ in New Zealand.
