So first I hope its ok to talk about a CT rig in this clubhouse - I don't see one for CT

Here is a link to the rig: http://r.ebay.com/3ST0B8

It's a 76 with a mild refresh: painted and interior cleaned up. (Wish it wasn't painted as we know that can hide all kinds of sins). Title story sounds...interesting to put it a nice way. Need to dive into that for sure.

Does anyone know this rig or close by to Stratford? (Should I be asking the NY guys?) If I can convince the boss to go for it, anyone want to go with me to inspect it? (If this **** snow storm had not hit, I'd probably be on my way to inspect it already.) I'm still too much of a newb to know what to look for.

Thanks.

Of course its fine. We have members all over New England. I don't know the rig or close enough to check it out but I'm sure someone here is. Good luck.

I'm very close to Stratford but I have little knowledge when it comes to 40's. I'm a fairly new 45 owner and have 4Runners. I'm surprised I have not seen this around town, I am frequently in the area for work.

it looks good in pictures, but the left side hard top looks like it been hit.

whats the LC prices these days?
is 17k a lot?

i would think maybe 15k tops.

Not far off by eBay standards, but I'm not sure I want to pony up $17k. I prefer to buy from another Mudder. I agree the top does look like it has a dent.

I would think that for a budget like that, you'd have a lot of shopping around to do, and I wouldn't limit myself to that one necessarily just because it's close.

Just one man's opinion. :)

Looks very nice.....but pics can hide anything. Also lack of pics. I would ask for a ton more pics. Engine bay, under carraige, close ups of windows, (shows how quality the paint job was/paint on gaskets or un-installed for paint) and a video of it running. BTW you are prob no more than 4 hrs drive to the cruiser. Spending that much $ you might as well just take the road trip with your cash and trailer.

Thanks for the responses and input guys. I've talked to them seller and I'm not sure I want to pay this kind of $ for this rig. I just need to be more patient and wait for the right one.

If it is a rust free 76, then it's probably worth it. One thing that I see is that the rear quarter panel spot welds are suspiciously absent.
