I had Wally mount my used tires and I think I paid around 40 bucks for all 4.. I think I even opted for the lifetime balance. That is crazy cheap BTW.

Hmm, that pic isn't showing for me, but it's probably the same one. You can see it on TireRack.com.

So what's the confusion exactly?

Picture fixed (stupid websites).

What you need is something like this!
Note this tire is a 15 rim and is currently on the owners wheeling rig but it was the best example of tread pattern.

They have about 1/4" of tread left and the set of 4 is $100. So you'll have to mount/balance them but for the price (and being a REAL tire) you can't beat it : )

Sweet!

So lets see now....

$100 for the tires.

Figure another $400 for new 15" rims with the correct backspacing and such.

Another $500 for new calipers.

Hmmm.....wait, these suddenly donlt seem like such a good deal.

(I have 16" rims, so these won't work. They would on a 91 or 91. Fitting a 15" rim is more work than it's worth on a 93+.)

The thing I've noticed is that most tires around that price ($150-$200) are very similar to the Grabber as far as tread pattern goes. I really like the Toyo M/T for the tread pattern, but that jumps the price up to about $250ish a tire. Hard for me to justify a $500 increase. :meh:

Especially when I could use that $500 for other things....like the Scangauge that Garett keeps bugging me to buy. :)

Gabe dont make me slap you now. There is text above every picture . . .
The second picture says the actual size LT285/75R 16, and the third picture was a crapy attempt of me trying to show the amount of tread left.

Soo . . $100 (tires) + $50 (?mounting/balancing?) = $150-$200 they will last you at least a year soo . . .
I still say good deal. :flipoff2: ; P

Oh and now you can get your scan gauge and Hi-Lift, onboard air, etc The wife wouldn't be able to say a thing about it.

EDIT
. . . did I mention you could get onboard air for the difference?? Just checking.

Oops, sorry. You started off by saying 15" and I didn't realize that there were two different sets of tires there. (I'm on my mobile, gimmi a break. :) )

Hmmm, the only problem is those aren't 35's. Well, that and 1/4 an inch isn't that much when it's your DD.

If those were 35's I'd snap them up in a heartbeat.

Damn Gabe, you just missed a OME 2.5" lift for sale in Portland/Salem for $350!!! That would almost be your used spare tire savings... maybe you could still scoop it up in the classifieds. That's a steal for an 80 lift and the ride is so much better than stock.

Zee lift, she is mine! :grinpimp:

Nice score, on second thought the beer you bring back down from Luck Lab Brewing will be my finders fee! :p

Ah, OK I'm good for the $, I guess the transportation fee would be more than the  anyway.

Total price for 5 installed (General Grabber AT2), done at Expert Tire: just under $950.

They will be installed today.

First thought: Holy crap they're big.

The tread isn't quite as agressive as the Toyo M\T's, but I'm actually quite happy with them. They still have a very aggressive tread, and should work well. They don't have the sidewall knobby's like the M\T's, but other than that the tread isn't that much different. They'll be a bit more road friendly, which will be nice (especially before a long trip like down to Yosemite and back).

Related note: Jeff at Expert Tire is a killer guy to work with. He'll be getting every last dime of my business from now on.

I have bought "a few" sets from him. I have always had a good experience there.
