Hey fellas,
is there a section of the FSM for the tacoma trucks that goes through testing the e locker motor and locker operation?

i downloaded the FSM from the FAQ for the 2000 tacoma.(it appears to be blown up into a bunch of individual pdfs as opposed to one big document)
i can only find wiring diagrams for the locker. the rear axle and suspension section didnt have anything on it that i could find about actual locker service.
am i looking in the wrong place?
thanks

I don't recall if the 80 FSM goes into detail about testing the motor, but there is nothing about disassembly and service if it. Toyota assumes it to be a "black box" and the full motor and actuator assembly should be replaced if it fails.

That said, there are a number of threads in the 80 series section that go into disassembly/reassembly, and testing the unit for proper operation. Assuming the Tacoma e-locker is the same, you could search around that forum for some troubleshooting tips.

Thanks!!

If you have the Toyota EWD pages there is a section that tells you how to test and how the circuit operates right under where all the wiring pictures are.
