I'm about ready to coat the tub of the 74 I'm building for the wife. My trans cover has the tar (or WTF it's made of) heat insulation on it and is in great condition.....I don't really want to remove it, reckon the Durabak will stick? Do I just coat around it?

Butch, I have not used Durabak myself but have been looking at the threads here at MUD and I like what I see. Sounds like a very durable material. Anyways, I went to their web site and looked at the FAQ section and found this. "What surfaces can Durabak™ be applied?
Durabak™ can be applied to concrete, metals, wood, fiberglass, rubber, tiles, plastic and more. Hope that helps. Take a look at the web site yourself, you may find some other things.
