JR I know flipper is running one in his pig and loves it his came with one but broke soon after he got the truck he did some research and found this guy making nice ones
HEI toyota, buy and sell Parts Accessories on eBay Motors
I might go this route the extra spaek gives the 2f some seat of the pants acceleration my only worry is what affect if any it has on the rest of the engine.

I ran a Mallory system in my old 2f-ed fj40 and it was like adding a turbo I have decent power with the stock (Jim C-ed) distributor and will prolly stick with it for the short term but will be following your results

My HEI dizzy is great. bought it on ebay as stated. gear is metric measurements so matches with the toyota engine innards

coolio, thanks for the tip. I may try one of those, their a bit cheaper and they come recommended!

cheers!

Oh wow, that's cheap. Did that dizzy bolt on without modifying the side cover?

I bought mine from Wally.....installed and dialed in. Couldn't be happier...

I had to bend the dipstick to get it out after the dizzy was in but otherwise it bolted right in

I have run a couple converted HEI dizzies. Not worth the cost over an OEM electronic distributor. OEM stuff is more water resistant too. I'd get a distributor/ignitor/dented side cover from an FJ60...and maybe have Jim C. recurve it. Heck, I figured you to have spares from your old truck lying around!
