Drivers Side Fenders alien abduction??

So I am fairly new here, but have owned a couple FJ40 cruisers in the last 20 years. Very glad I found this forum, and just paid my membership!! (which is a bargain btw) So, what the heck is up with trying to find a drivers side FJ40 fender in this country?? Every place that you can order them from is b.o'd....but passenger side fenders seem plentiful....what gives??
Can anyone give me feedback on the quality or drawbacks of going with fiberglass from LandCruiser Specialties? Seems like the only place that I can find one!! My current fenders are loaded with cracking bondo and look horrible. Guessing they would be too tough to repair....

Strip them down and repair the stress cracks as you wont beat the oringinal steel parts that came with your cruiser.

i second that, factory fenders are best, btw toyota still had a couple of the drivers sides in the system, call cruiser dan at american or Beno/steve at Lowe.. they may be able to get one..

Thanks for the imput...maybe I can post a couple pics of my fenders so you can see the condition..not a body guy but Im willing to learn and gotta start somewhere!
