I did a quick search for this but came up with nothing so perhaps I did not use the right key words. Also checked the FAQ as well as a generic google search.

Anyone have any instructions on adjusting the driver's side door. Our 2004 was the victim of a hit and run side-swipe while parked outside overnight back in 2019 and the door had to be replaced (along with other damage along the driver's side) and was never properly aligned by the body shop that performed all of the insurance work. My son has been the primary driver over the last several years and I had noticed the wind noise that was never there before but never took it back to the body shop (completely my fault as they also screwed something else up - ugh).

I've been driving it more recently and have been getting various maintenance items addressed and now this is bothering me. I could take it back to the body shop but if there's a way to deal with it myself...

Issue is up around the top right corner of the door frame. Rubber insulation/molding is still in excellent near new condition. Photos available here:

I bought this from the original owner in the Bay Area back in 2010 so just over 15 years of ownership (we previously had a 97 80 series). Shame on me for not dealing with this sooner but I'm clearly still emotionally attached to it after all of these years.

So I worked in the body shop world for about 8 years and went through body and paint school. With that being said I’m no “professional” and can give you what I have done in the past even though it might not be correct. For adjusting the door frame to fit tighter up top on the sail panel we would roll the window down, put our knee against the door panel, and pull in a downward/toward your body motion on the top frame of the door. Remember the window must be rolled down and start easy and continue until desired result. Always worked for me…some may not say the same. Hope it helps

Thanks - I dug up the receipts from the insurance work and it turns out the body shop had the equivalent of a lifetime limited warranty. Called them and they were happy to deal with it and took care of it as a while you wait.
