Dome lights replacement (1 Viewer)

Hi gang,

One of my dome lights is out on mg GX and I picked up a replacement bulb (DE3175). I was hoping that I would just be able to pop the new one in, but now it seems like I need to take the whole "unit" out. Is that true? Can anyone offer some tips if they have done this before?

There are different lights depending on rear seat entertainment set up or lack thereof. I have an ‘04 not rear anything and an ‘07 with roof mounted dvd. Both only needed a simple removal of the opaque plastic cover using a small flat head screwdriver.

Ah, I have an 05 with rear dvd. Perhaps I got the wrong bulb type.

So it turns out the DE3175 is for the second-row dome light and for the trunk dome light. For the front "push" lights (are those actually called "map lights"?) I used 1895 bulbs (one for each side).
