Never in my life heard that expression......thats funny...... :D

The inside housing of the headlights which are occupied by high beams in the US were reserved for fog lights (clear bulbs with yellow shade/cover around the bulb inside the housing) in Japan (and OZ, etc... I think, with H4 headlight bulbs).

Some 80's came with OEM brush guards with aux. fog/driving lights as well. My friend's 1HD-T has the aforementioned yellow built-in fog and IPF Super Rally 930 on his bull bar with supplied switch.

Here are pics of a JDM headlight and optional fog/driving (I've seen clear and yellow) with brush guard.

HTH.

Mot & Mike -

Thanks for the detailed pix of some of those options that we never see over here in NA.

Mike -
Just to clarify, are you saying that...
1) the bull bar/brush guard, and...
2) the aux driving/fog lights mounted on it are BOTH OEM?

Also, can either of you provide a pix of the dashboard showing the OEM switch / mounting location for the headlight-mounted fog lights, and the OEM driving lights? It is interesting to see how it was done on the 80s in the Asian market.

Thanks for your input.

They are both OEM (I've seen various bar/guard and lamp (white/yellow: BOSCH/other) types.

As for dash pics, I'll let Mike take some pics and post since I don't have access to them (unless I take my friend's this weekend).

Yes Ron, they are OEM. I have only one switch that turns on all fog lights. The driving ones and the mounted ones. But I don't have rear fog lights like European Cruisers have.

I will make a pic and post it in two days. Near the fog light switch you will find in my cruiser the switch for the head light washers too. You will see it in the pics.

M & M -

Thanks. I would image that the Japanese & Thai Cruisers are built to the same spec, though perhaps the options might be somewhat different.

There were a few pix posted here last year by one of our UK members... who had headlamp washers, and rear fogs (but not front fogs). I'm betting that your dash setup is the same as his - that was one of the things I wanted to compare.

TOY didn't sell the LC 80 or 100 in the Thai - Market. Only the Prado. For the big cruisers we have authorized importers who bring the cruisers direct from Japan with all japanese options if you like.

I think the setup of the switches should be the same between the UK cruiser and the japanese cruiser.
