Well, after doing some soul searching I decided to keep my 70 fj 40 project. I want to put disc brakes on the front, I purchased a solid front axel out of a toy trk and plan to use the disc brake setup off it. Can the whole frontend be used? Or just the outers? Has anyone done this conversion? I bought the carriers for the rear disc conversion from JTs. Any and all info is appreated. Thx

Many folks there have the know how. You only use the knuckles and associated parts out to the end. including the lockouts. Keep the birfs as you need to grind out the housing a bit to fit the larger units in there.

Do some searching on the board there are a few good write ups.

Lots of rags man, Lots of rags.

Also with the 70 master cylinder you need to pull out the prop valve from it, there area also some write ups on that, Takes about 5 mins in total, if you do rear disks, you pull the rear one too.
