Well, she's finally gotten heavy enough and the tires tall enough that I'm ready to regear.

Anyone know a good shop in the Portland, Oregon or Vancouver, Washington area that they would recommend? I know many people recommend sending in their thirds, but as my daily driver, I can't easily do that.

Thanx for your help.

I heard good things about Carl in JustDifferentials. I plan at some point in
The future to take my truck to JT’s in Cashmere, WA for regearing.

Give them a call and if you end up going there for the 4.88 regear, let us know how it went.

This is the Nitro Gear package I am looking at: Nitro Gear Package
I got all excited until I mapped Cashmere, WA...it is in the middle of nowhere, outside of Seattle!

I'm going to keep looking for something a little more local. Thanx, though, for trying. Best of luck with your regear. I'm sure it will be worth it.

It may be worth looking into the total cost, benefits, and disadvantages of just buying additional carriers and having a reputable shop do the hard work and a local shop do the swap. Valley Hybrids, GearInstalls.com, Cruiser Outfitters, and others seem to have taken on such work in the past?

My bad, I was under the assumption that you live away east from the city. Definitely contact TorFab in Everette, WA - I had all of my upgrades done thru them. Talk to Adam or Tor as they are very approachable and will not try to sell you anything. They only specialize in Land Cruisers.

Accessory Outfitters in Beaverton, Oregon can do the job. They regeared my 80 and have done work on several 200s that I know of.

Thanx, that's much closer to home.

Just call the man. Josh Harper at Willamette Blvd Auto. If you aren't going there....you should. You can thank me later.
