I have a locked 80. Whats the max difference in tire diameter i can run on one axle without damage? I typically do 5 tire rotations and want to get the spare back in the mix. Then I realized I'm woefully behind in my tire rotations. Thanks.

This is not really an issue of lockers, but an issue with the viscous coupling. If you are locked you will be on a surface that allows the tire to slip, thus relieving any bind in the drivetrain. When you are on pavement (unlocked) with different diameter tires your viscous coupling will respond to the variance in front/rear driveshaft speed. If the difference is significant and sustained over a long period of time (driving down the highway) then the viscous coupling could fail. Below are some threads on the 80s forum you should read. Nothing is conclusive, but minor differences due to tread wear seem to be acceptable.
