Hey yawl...good friend Mike & his son have been telling me about going to Desoto National Forest & riding on loging roads & short trials on Sundays. Nothing to crazy low limbs & few muddy spots.

Would anyone be interested in going as a club for a pretty easy ride?
More or less a outing of sorts for everyone to get out & enjoy the spring/summer weather.

:bounce: If anyone has been to this area & knows more about this please let me know next week at the meeting. :bounce2:

This would be a great way for everything from non lift truck to a fully locked rig to enjoy there cruisers!

hell yeah, sounds great. Lots of fun. Just gettin' up there is a haul.

Can you remind me how far it is to Desoto?

Forest service maps are available for $6.00 here:
100 W. Capitol Street
Suite 1141
Jackson, MS. 39269

601-965-4391

They show "jeep" trails etc.

From what I have heard 2 hrs driving time.

Ok Barry-we can split the cost of maps-if you have time go ahead & get one for the entire area.

No need to split the cost. I've wanting to get one for myself of Desoto. I'll be glad to order extra if anyone wants one. Let me know. I'll collect the $6. @ next mtg.

I have a Delorme Map for the whole state.

Mickey works for the USGS.

We don't lack for maps in the club.

Can't afford the gas to get up there! All of my funds are going to buy Diesel for the tow rig and beer for the week at GSMTR! Anyone want to tag along? We've got seats!

short notice, anyone interested?

I'm planning on taking 3 or 4 college students down the Okatoma on Wednesday. We were going to leave early in the morning, run the 8 mile stretch with the mini white water spots, then find a place to camp. How about combining this with the Desoto wheeling thing? I realize it's short notice to get time off from work. I'll have to stick to the mild paths if I go alone. Is there anyone in the area I can call if I get stuck?

Anyone interested speak up. I can email my phone #.

Barry
