Ah that makes sense, the trans cooler and AC stays the same, you have plenty of room behind them for Intercooler and the radiator can move back since you have so much room. Bummer won't work for anyone staying with the 1FZ, or going diesel but it looks like a very nice setup! I am glad you used the Garrett core, so many companies/people are just grabbing cheap overseas cores any more. Good luck it looks like you have some really great ideas!

That is indeed a Garrett core. 24x12x3.5. We wanted a 3.0 but none were in stock. Will get some more pics today st the show for you. It’s in the stock radiator location, with the radiator pushed back a few inches. Chose this route since there is still a mile of room in the engine bay because the 2.8 is so short.

How heavy is that panhard bracket? Would it be reasonable to ask a bud to bring one over in his checked bags or are they available here in Aus?

It’s only a few pounds. Could easily stash in checked baggage.

Did you guys switch to a full float rear axle or kept the semi float of the 91? Would the panhard brackets work for the rear full float of the 93-97 models? Im new to this lift bracket concept but seems like its a much stronger option vs the adjustable panhards.

The panhard bracket will fit all axles. An adjustable panhard will locate your axle in the correct place left to right but it WILL NOT get the geometry back to the right spot for proper handling. Even with an adjustable panhard, your rig will feel like it wanders in the rear end.

WOW!! This might be the only true over 100k retail 80 I've ever seen??? Nice web site. The rear bumper might be on my short list. Any idea on pricing and availability and specs?

And we made it. Not too happy about hauling it down on a trailer, but that's the way it goes. Five more work days and we would've been adventuring on the way down, doing some good "breaking in" of the rig.

Fully finished rear bumper with spare tire carrier and kitchenette attachments. We like to keep our designs as modular as possible, so all the attachments/options simply bolt to the swing out arms. Once everything is finalized, we will be publishing the mount points. This will allow others to design their own attachments if they don't like ours.

This color was the best mistake ever. It was color checked via pictures on phones, and was supposed to be slightly less green, but we ended up liking it quite a bit. The spring color is a very nice accent as well. Good shot of the front bumper here too. First day of the show, Cummins stopped by our space and dropped off a very nice placard with full build details. They also have us listed on their "Cummins Walk", showing off all the rigs that have been converted with the 2.8 (about 6 here).

Nice shot of the front bumper. We went back and forth a bunch before deciding to remove the valance piece for bumper install. This allows the bumper to be very beefy and stout, while still allowing for high clearance. There will be options for bull bar across the middle as well.

Engine bay. We tried to keep it as clean as possible, integrating as many factory parts as we could. The stock airbox was retained, but we added some bling to the top of it. We are going to be finalizing a much more reproducible piece for the kit.

Yea Im getting that front bumper no doubt.

Go for it Rfb. And I’m going to drop my 95 off as soon as I can sell my house!

Good looking gear @Delta VS.
My market research says that I will own my 80 until I’m dead. There are a lot of Toyota’s out there,
and heeps that really need strong quality gear and real functional mods.
Good old fashioned hard work pays for itself. All the best to you and your craft.

We have a 95 at the shop, planning to put a 4BT in it, so can make an adapter for one of those trannys. If somebody sent a 96-97 to the shop we could make one.

Any chance you guys will be doing a direct 2.8 vs 4bt comparison @Delta VS ?

At some point yes. The 4BT is a personal project of @swankstar’s so it’ll take some time to get dialed between paying work.

More glamor shots, Please!

Sneaky peek at the intercooler

What the kitchenette looks like in it's closed position, Traeger/prep shelf bolted to the back, very inconspicuous

Pass side rear, you can see the steps that will incorporate into the upcoming ladder/rack system. Can also see the stainless exhaust peeking out the back here.

I like your stuff a lot! Ever considered an intercooler kit or high flow intake box for 1HDT powered 80s?

Thanks! Happy to consider something like that, but would need one of those trucks at the shop for a while. Any volunteers?

...wish I lived anywhere near Idaho right now...

So cool that I got to see your Cruiser at Expo. Floored at all the detail and smart, problem solving parts you guys bust out. I’m installing the attic brackets today and gonna order a Panhard bracket soon! The center console is really tempting as well.

I really like your out of the box thinking with the bumpers. They look great.

I got one 10-blocks from the shop.

Cheers

Sorry for any late post show responses folks, we have all gone separate ways for a bit to decompress a little. Found some cool spots so far.

Nice to have had the opportunity to have chatted with Dave & Jen overlooking the big hole on the North Rim. A good solid group you have at DELTA and best of luck to you all going forward with some awesome products.

Panhard bracket question - what is the total height gained?

I look forward to business in the near future.

Side Note - Hit me up if you want pictures or routing info on my 80 series Safari Turbo air to air intercooler.
