I am looking at refinishing my Sliders front ARB and Rear Slee bumper that is comming off of my 80 and going onto the LX450. I have a lot of rust starting to form on the rear Slee and the front ARB was used very well but no paint issues like the rear. The sliders also had a lot of love in their life and have a lot of exposed areas that are starting to rust.
I'm went to a couple paint shops letting them know what I wanted but not wanting to Powder Coat. I mentioned the Epoxy's that are listed in this section but they didn't know much about them. As far as I can tell you can not color match the epoxy's out there.
Their best reccomendation was this stuff https://corporateportal.ppg.com/NA/Refinish/CommercialCoatings/2-0-Products/010_DelfleetEvolution/EN
Or the cheaper versioin https://corporateportal.ppg.com/NA/Refinish/CommercialCoatings/2-0-Products/020_DelfleetEssential/EN
Anyone think this stuff it tough enough. I'm hoping to color match the trim. Most importantly though I need something that is going to hold up to the trails (understanding that rocks may win most times). I know the evolution goes for over $100 a gallon so I'm hoping the essential is a good option. It seems to be used on Airplanes and Helicopters a lot.
How many gallons do you think it would take to cover everything? I know there will be a lot of overspray considering the pieces.
