Lowest setting first I believe..just a trickle charge.
Assuming it is a Gel or AGM battery but if it's a wet cell make sure the levels are above the plates..add distilled water if needed

After reading the above ODYSSEY battery link their approach on their AGM battery is to bulk charge it right away.
Perhaps a trickle charge first is old school wet cell thinking that is not a deep cycle battery. Then I may just be talking out of my $%^!
I'd say what type of battery is it..a gel or AGM and then see what the approach is

I've read stories about AGM batteries being resurrected from dead flat (as in: sitting for an extended time under salt water).

Never heard of wet cells being recovered, though.
 
since i have to buy 2 new batteries (one for my boat, and one to replace this one) I think I am going to spend the extra for the float charger for the boat. This one used to be in my little boat, but i ripped out the wiring as it's not needed. Going to be going dual battery in the cruiser. Thanks for all the help!
