December Meeting and Annual Charity Auction

We will have our annual charity auction at our December meeting, which is Thursday Dec. 11th, 7:00 at Pappa's BBQ in Dallas.

For years the club has had a charity auction and the proceeds go to a charity or an individual in need. The club tries to match the money raised with some of it's own funds. Our friends at Toyota Trail Riders also participate in our auction. So please try and make the event.

This year's donation will be made in memory of Bob Garrett and will be going to the Genesis Women's Shelter, a local organization that assists battered women ad their children. http://www.genesisshelter.org


We need donations of items to be auctioned so please bring anything of value, can be parts, tools or non Cruiser related items. Also remember to bring some cash to bid on the items in the auction.

As luck would have it....Coop has a school function, can't make it. Put me down for $40 cash donation. I will see if I can find some cool stuff to pawn off...I meant auction to a good cause.

We had a great night! A lot of cool trucks, lots of fun and we raised a lot of money. The auction brought in over $2200 and Lone Star added to that by donating $1500, TTR donated $500 which brings the total to over $4200 that will be given to the Genesis Women's Shelter. All in the name of our late friend and fellow Cruiserhead, Bob Garrett.

A big thank you to all involved. It's great to see the generosity of our community.

We had a lot of rare trucks show up last night, most of which were new trucks to the Dallas area owned by some of our members.

Joeri brought his new BJ43 Project.
Tom brought three trucks he just imported (all left hand drive) A FJ45 Troopy, an FJ43, and his son's lifted 73 Series.
Butch brought his new mint condition 1993 80 Series
The raffle truck is now in Texas but didn't make it, she's in the garage. Hopefully next meeting after a shake down.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the charity fundraiser benefiting Genesis Womens Shelter in the memory of Bob Garrett.

Lone Star Land Cruisers and Toyota Trail Riders delivered a check today for $4200.
