It looks like we are going to URE for Our December wheeling trip.
It may get a little crowded with only one group campsite (B).
This could be called a N meets S, there will be people from ONSC, UC, LCLC, SFLC, and maybe others also.
We are leaving out of the group campsite at 9:00 Sat morn, not from the Outpost.
Let us know who is coming, and you might want to post on ONSC also, they are talking about a group dinner on Sat night.
There wasn't any mention about cost, but I will find that out soon.
Hope to see you there.

I don't think so, it will just be tight.
I might be sleeping in my van anyway (if I take my Jeep)

Can't say myself depends on schedule but keeping an open mind. :D

What do you mean "It looks like we are expected to show up at URE for this event?" Is it being strongly reccommended that you go? That sounds weird.

The ONSC thread said there would be members from LCLC and UC there.
When I wrote this, I thought I was on the UC site...they were not sure where they were going.
I was planning on going to URE anyway.

Getting closer...Scott is your front pinion seal fixed yet?
I'm planning on installing the hand throttle and the trans cooler on the van this weekend.

The pinion seal is fixed! I'm taking the day off Fri, so me and Corey and whoever else comes should be there Fri. afternoon! I was gonna replace the blocks in the rear with some 3" trailmaster add a leaves but there are no shims with the kit... Do you think I'll need them? The 4runner's at my brothers right now but I don't think the leaves are on yet. I may wait and get them put on later... Didn't get the rocksliders ordered either:(

I would go without them. You are that high now without them and no problem.
If you do need them, you can just loosen the u bolts and slid them in.

Also check with belmont, he has some 16" all terrains for sale

Thanks, I'm thinking the blocks probably have built in shims...maybe? Not sure. I checked with him and he has the km1s. Sounds like a great deal. I'll have to think about it. I really want km2s though...

You saw me at GSMTR with A/Ts, I did everything you guys did +...
Also, It hasn't been offroad yet.

It is close to the date now so that I am sure that I am working, again. expletive deleted have fun anyway. Post up some photo's

We'll see you on the trails in the spring, Doc.
In the meantime, we'll get some under belly protection on.

I got my trailer brake controller on the van, and all the lights working on the Jeep. Also the hand throttle is on and working. Can't wait to try it out.
All I lack is the trans cooler, and I'm ready.
I've got one of my (16 yr old) scouts coming with me, he just got a 2000 TJ, and I told him I would take him wheeling. He's already been mudding 3 times and has only had it a little over a month. He's really excited!!!

Hate you're going to miss it, this is the last trip until spring.

Important Change of Camp

Just to let everyone know, Logan's dad Kenny Monk, has offered up the use of his family's property in which to camp, cook, and hangout. He has 26 acres of land, 2 of which are cleared for parking, camping and fixing broken stuff!. His barn will hold around 120 people and has a stove and facilities for cooking, and wood burning stoves.

We will be staying here instead of at Group camp for size constraints, since we will have around 30 trucks at this ride (if I counted all the clubs participants correctly).

From the outpost it is 2 miles towards Troy then right at Uwharrie store on River Rd, then exactly 7 miles to gate on left. Exactly 1.1 mile further is the BP at corner with Hwy 24-27.

For GPS/Mapquest purposes the BP station address is:
4560 NC HWY 24 27W
Mount Gilead, NC 27371

Saturday Morning

Meet at the Outpost at 8:30 and divide into groups. We'll depart in waves starting at 9:30, with around 6-8 in each group.

Easy (Wolfs Den) will park on the front gravel parking line closest to the pumps
Moderate (Dickey Bell) will park in front gravel parking line furthest from the pumps
Difficult (Daniel) will park on the rear gravel parking line close to the AIR pump

Saturday Night

Dinner will be a medley of potluck items, bring a little extra of whatever you make best in order to share. I will try to acquire a pig cooker in order to help facilitate some large scale cooking, but with tailgate season, it may be hard to get this late, so I would still plan like you were cooking at group camp. Definitely bring some regional beers if you want to swap...

Sorry it's so lengthy, Club presidents/trip leaders PM me for my cell phone and any questions you might have...

Brian
