Hey Folks. I"m thinking about heading out to DV for a 3 or 4 day trip between Christmas and New Years. I was thinking about doing the South end of the park this time: Ballarat to Goler, Barker Ranch, Striped Butte Valley, Warm Springs, and then if there's enough interest, over to Cottonwood and Marble Canyon. Or whatever, I'm flexible. Maybe drive up the canyon to Inyo Mine, that's always a cool spot to visit. If it gets really cold I'm not doing this, but if the weather is moderate it's a go.

If anyone's interested in tagging along, let me know

I would check the weather, obviously. I am going out to DV over that period of time (in a 2wd passenger car) and expect the Valley to have good weather, even with the current conditions in LA.

If you plan on goingup Cottonwood, MArble, the Park Service has closed the fun and interesting portions. Check out Mosiac Canyon (short hike from the parking lot) that is very near Stove Pipe Wells on the way to Cottonwood and Marble Cyns.....
