Why did you put a nice lil V8 in the 4Runners, and not the Tacoma's ?
Is there a conversion kit that is smog legal.
I've got a nice 07' Taco DD with a 3" lift, do everything truck, and I pull a travel trailer in the summer.
Winter too if I could score some out of state deer tags.
The truck does good, with it's 6 spd man trans, but just think what you as a company could have done if I could'a had a V8.
What are you people doing at Toyota ? Do you listen to your customers other than at "That" Vegas Show?

Personally I would rather have a diesel. Too bad Toyota won't jump thought the hoops to get their diesels EPA certified here in the US. I'd be the first in line to get a Taco with the 1HD in it. Especially if it had a solid front axle.

I remember seeing a diesel taco in France back in the early 2000's. Though it was cool. Is a 1HD a four cyl ? I'm still wanting a big blast of V8 inm
my Taco.

That and so much more! There are numerous trucks/SUVs and drivetrain combos that Toyota could build but won't. Would be nice to hear the boardroom convos so we could all understand.

I think the 1HD is a 5 cylinder 4.2 liter with a Turbo. But they make a 4 cylinder too, but I personally think the 6 cylinders Toyota diesels are one of the better engines they ever made.

I have heard all kinds of idea why they won't bring the diesel to the US, but the EPA thing seems to always floats to the top with the most likeliness.
