Actually that picture by Chicago IS the chicken-corner, right turn you are taking about. It is that he is going downhill, so it is a left for him. here is a picture before the second repair was made. Almost the same vantage point as Chicago's

Yeup!
You sent me this pic after BLOTCH last year!
This was my first run EVER as a driver and my rig was NEW to me, so I guess in hind site it felt worse than it looked!

Here's a couple of pics of the bridge right after that spot!
THAT wasnt as bad as it looked!

All I can say is

Let's go!!!

the part i got suck on was jut ahead of what we call pucker ridge or chicken rock. the trail was frozen on one side. i have no locker so that was it. It was 5am so we backed down a 100 yards or so and slept till 9or 10:00. Barker ranch is sweet and a little creepy but not to be mist

just now back and had a great time maybe minus the snow over echo summit returning to the valley of hell from the valley of life.

>Barker ranch is sweet and a little creepy but not to be mist

nothing creepy about it, its been fixed up a lot since a couple years ago; as have all the cabins in warm springs/striped butte area. no matter what bad there is to be said about charlie, he had a good eye for real estate. only spent one night there but was very interesting place. then on to stellas cabin for a few nights; was going to meet up with cruiser people for south park but fell in with jeepers in the cabin across the ridge and hung out with them for the duration finding out just how capable a machine a jeep is. i know that doesnt go over real big here but still, its a fact. they made short work of any trail i went on with them including that bridge and chicken rock business...

South Park did have a rich history.

The access is a bit too close to Rader's camp at South Park so he or his crew blew out with dynamite to block access and it leaves a huge gap, hence the bridge was builted over it.

This very tight corner is called "Chicken Rock" because the loose rubbles of rock is hold by chicken mesh wires.

"Deaf Valley" that's a interesting name, how about "Stone Deaf Valley"?

Cheers,
