Dead Tach + Whack Speedo + Other Fun Things

Tach on my 84' FJ60 is dead, any ideas? I also need to change the speedo so its correct, I'm now running 35's, is there a gear I can change or something? I'm a total newbie :-P

Dual Fuel Lines?

I have dual fuel lines coming from my tank, but the guy who owned the truck before me upgraded to a weber carb (3.5 psi vs 8 stock?) and is only using one of these lines. The other is just hanging out in the engine bay. Can I remove it? Also what should I do with the vapor return for the gas tank? Its plugged right now as well.

My personal recommendation is to swap in an OEM Aisin carb ASAP.
That'll solve the fuel line issues.

As far as the tach is concerned, pull your instrument cluster.
There should be 3 wires coming off the back of the tach.
1 black one which is the signal from the coil and emissions computer.
1 yellow one, which should be hot in run, and
1 white one with black tracer, which eventually finds its way to ground.
Trace 'em all and make sure they have good connections at each end and no missing/torn/cracked insulation.
Start wih the ground first, as that is usually the problem.
If all your wires are ok and have good connections, then it's the tach. I think they can be
rebuilt, but you can probably get a used one, too.
If it was anything else, your engine wouldn't start up. :)
