Hiya-

So my round 10-12" diameter muffler took a beating (no surprise there!) at Kina's house. Is there something flatter I can replace it with? What are your recommendations?

85 JF60 for those who don't pay attention ;p

Thanks,

Harry

PS: I actually bought an airgun & a compressor! Be afraid, be very afraid....

Call Lou's custom exhaust. several locations

I like Dynomax or Flowmaster mufflers. For what you want to do you should be able to cut the old out and slip the new in: no muffler shop required. This is a nice work day or tech day kinda project. Done at the right club member's garage the muffler can even be welded in...

I purchased a cat back Dynomax for my girls Jeep and it rotted off in less than two years. I wouldn't buy anything from them again.

That was not my experience with the Dynomax muffler on my '76 FJ40. Heck, I think it's the only thing that DIDN'T rust on my Cruiser! Sorry to hear you and your girl had such poor luck with the cat back system.

The pair of Flowmasters I had on my V8J40 served as nerfs under the rockers. They collected quite a few dents but never managed to tear a hole through the case. They didn't rust much either. Still have them on the shelf in the garage waiting for their next home. Probably end up under the tow rig this time around.
