stumbled across this link, curious if anybody knows about these trailers. my google-fu is weak.

curious about the (seems to fold down) bubble in the front (F.E.?) and what the tubes below are meant to carry/stow /protect.

UAZ-31512 & GAZ-704 & UAZ-8109

Never seen anything like that. The fold down tray may be a storage box? The tubes I thought at first, maybe forklift pockets, but don't look sturdy enough for that? And the shocks, I have never seen anything like that before.

I believe shocks like those have been around for a bit... IIRC I saw some on trucks from the early 1900s...

they're kinda cool looking shocks, I thought they were PS gearboxes at first.

Sure you have, they look exactly like the automatic door closers you find on most commercial buildings. Probably work on the same principal.

they 'close' the travel gap???

edit: Nevermind, happy w/current chassis setup, curious about widgets.

You guys near the coasts get all the good trailers...:crybaby:

It's all relative, travel in one direction with a opposite travel in another direction to maintain a static position.

Those shocks are called lever shocks. I had them on my 46 Ford and on my 65 Triumph
