Cyclone

Excellent- when installed does it sit on top of the air filter and are the fins touching the bottom of the filter housing or is there a gap between the two areas?

Nice-PM sent

It sits on top of the filter element and goes down roughly half way into the filter housing. As the intake is in on the top half of the filter housing, the wing would help prevent larger particles and moisture from flowing straight onto the filter element, forcing the air to flow around the filter housing and allowing the larger particles to fall and flow into the filter housing case/bowl at the bottom. It acts the same as an air compressors water separator filter unit.

It also has a gasket which you can see in your linked thread assembly diagram, it has a groove in it and sit on the wing, seals the filter housing cap to the wing and seals the wing to the filter element. First pics show the gasket installed on the wing..

Does the incoming air flow in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction when driving south of the Equator?

I know......smart-ass !

That would depends on which way your clocks turn north of the Equator Bear! You lot drive on the other side of the road to us, so nothing would suprise me:flipoff2:

Good to see the fine art of smart ass is still alive and well!

Slowed up somewhat at the moment, but the fire is still burning. Can't do much until the boys at work get the parts and fix the little TIG I was borrowing, I don't what to get too far ahead of myself but I might start looking at my passenger door. It was left open and backed into a fence post, it is bent on the outside skin but I think the inside skin is still straight. I could just find another one but I will give fixing this one a crack first.

When you get around to building that cage, be sure to post up some pics:cheers:

Cage

I'm just finishing up on the D/S cage now. It is an easy project. I do more high speed driving off road than rock crawling and you know what a rock sounds like bouncing around under a truck. Then you hear that " ding" the one you know is the D/S, so Just going though some checks of the axle/body in various configurations to set the clearance of the cage with D/S. Did one on a FJ40 but that was much easier than a 45.
Will post in a day or two.
Cheers

The one photo of the angle height with measurement is hard to read can you tell me the angle height again please.

Took it out for a drive all works well. Just a few more bits of rubber edging and its complete. Should last a bit as it in mostly stainless steel. I know its not as good as the original but as it is very hard to find one over in the states might as well make one. Thanks again for the photos of yours.
