So I was loading my UPS truck on Friday outside of the UPS store in Ashland. My loading zone is right next to a busy intersection and I'm always watching the cars go by.
I heard a diesel coming up to the intersection and as it got closer I realized it wasn't your average Powerstroke or Cummins, I looked up and saw an FJ80 coming to a stop. As I'm eyeballing it I see a chrome "Cummins" emblem on the rear tailgate. By the sound of it it must have been a 4bt with a big exhaust. As it accelerated away I saw that it was noticed it was silver with maybe a 2" body lift and bone stock tires and rims. The only thing that gave it away as anything special was the emblem on its butt. I was shocked that someone would put so much work into a rig and leave it painfully stock looking. So Kief do you know the guy or what? I'm pretty sure it was Oregon plates but I couldn't really tell for sure. Pretty cool to see that conversion done on an 80. :wrench:

Off topic but just as rare in the wrong direction though. Walking home from some geocaching I was passed by a 4x4, straight axles, coils and at least 37's with an 80's era Mercedes sitting way up on top of it all (the typical diesel car big 4 door). Rockers probably as high as Jesse's. I was dumbfounded by this nightware and was unable to snap a pic!

There used to be a "truck" like that around here. *WAY* higher than Jesse's tho. They'd swap in several bodies, including a monster truck style body and an old school Camaro (at least that's what it looked like to me).

Haven't seen it around in at least a year, dunno what ever happened to it.

We must have seen it at the same time. I was next to it as it turned onto Ashland St. It had MT plates and probably an OME med lift. The guy driving it had a very big red beard. I have never seen that truck before.

this is my other white wagon,

 might be my next offroad rig?

naaaa:flipoff2: I like 30MPG

also in the "spotted" files, I saw a hdj80 today, BC plates and 15" wheels, guessing 91-92? silver on top of dark red, expedition style at the sea lion caves. I like those Canadian rigs
