John F. has stepped up to do a Cruising Coffee Run to Moab this Saturday the 15th. He's planning to run Seven Mile Rim and Tusher Tunnel near Moab. Both are moderate trails. Meeting at Starbucks on 24 Road in GJ at 8:00 AM. Join him and help he and Michele celebrate their wedding anniversary.

Well, the turn-out at the Coffee leg of the trip was a little light. The turn-out for the Cruisin leg did not get much better!!! The Mrs. and I left Starbucks at 0830 hrs. When we reached the Hwy 128 turn off just past Cisco we saw it was closed for the Moab Half Marathon. So, we continued down I-70 to the Hwy 191 exit.
We decided to explore the Chicken Corners/Hurrah Pass area since we had no other rigs with our small group. The Mrs. and I have never been on that trail and it was very scenic. Trail difficulty was about a 1 on a scale of 10. A few other vehicles, UTV/ATV's and some dirtbikes shared the trail with us.
We saw across the Colorado River what the trail guide called a salt evaporation plant. Had not heard of that being there. It was a fairly large facility.
Overall a good trip and made it back to GJ around 6:30 pm.

Would have really liked to make it out but I had to watch my daughter yesterday. I had some good pictures of a Montero that got caught in a flash flood on Kane creek.

It sucks that you had to run it alone. Nice photos. Thanks for posting.
