After driving Jonny's vehicle in Moab...I'm actively working on gathering parts. Can't wait to have mine setup with a 5 speed!
After talking to Ryan about driving Johnny's in Moab I am actively selling organs for $$ for gathering parts lol!! I think I'd like to do this and then a turbo down the road, we shall see.
 
You are eating the core charge. Toyota is not going to take a 4speed back in place of a 5speed.

They do check those key details. 😂😂
LOL!! Yes, I was not suggesting that .... but I do know of a part out that I may be able get a A750 from for real cheap ;)

Buy one from Mr T, pay the core charge, bring in salvaged A750 to recoup core charge ...

If I was to choose a Toyota floor shifter for this kind of swap, it would be something like this 2010 4 Runner with P-R-N-D selections and then a 'Sport' selection that has manual +/- gear shifting in 'sport' mode. Our 2010 Camry has this same pattern and it's pretty great. With some creative 3D printing, I'm pretty sure I could get that shifter stuffed into the Land Cruiser, and this 2010 4 Runner shifter is already driving an A750F.

We tried. It is way too tall to work well in the cruiser without doing a completely new console

A proper gear indicator on the dash cluster would change the scenario dramatically.

So I have been down the “Gate Shift” road before…

in an 80…

with an a750F…

Cummins R2.8 in front of it. The shifter was a pain in the ass. It was cool but there is no way to standardize it or make it easy. Getting it to work was like a 40 hour endeavor (choose your favorite shop and add up that time lol). There’s a reason I didn’t pursue this.
