man, I just want to tell you this is one of the coolest builds. I love reading about all the work and stealing your pointers and ideas. I have learned a good deal from you. Thanks CM.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. Steal as much as you want, that’s why I post it.

Junkyard accessory coolers...
Paid $35 for both of these.

Practically new AC condenser from a crashed 2016 Chevy Sonic. Modern efficient design, parallel flow, and it has andrier built in (under the black oil cooler). So glad to not have that stupid hardline running across the front of the condenser anymore. I’m going to have to get a bit creative to use the proprietary fitting block on it but I have a few ideas for that. My criteria were as big as I could fit in this space and cheap.
I’m going to stick a big fan in front of this as well.

The other cooler is a transmission cooler from a Grand Cherokee. I’m going to use it for my steering. My criteria were threaded fittings, and on the same side, and cheap.

I had #6 and #8 o-ring fittings brazed onto the hardlines sticking out of the GM block fitting.
Just need to make some mounts for the condenser and a nice pusher fan.

^^^ Perfect solution.

I run a SPAL pusher fan on a manual switch. I just turn it on in traffic, and off on the open road. Works great.

Still plugging away at it.. Down to a pretty short punch list. Been busy with some other stuff as well.
Left to do (off the top of my head)
-Exhaust
-get PCM flashed and base line tune started.
-install fans
-wire everything (haven't done anything besides plugging harness into motor)
-heater hoses
-ac hoses
-bleed brakes/clutch
-mount passenger seat
-rear driveashaft
-quickly rebuild front axle as a few knuckle studs are missing and the drivers side is gushing oil since there's no axle in there.

Hopefully get all that done by the end of this week. Right?

Bought these fans on Amazon as remans, so half the price of new ones. Still Prime and arrived two days. And they look brand new! So that’s pretty sweet.
Here come the Fan Clutch Brigade to let me know how electric fans never work, inferior, yada yada etc.

And mounted in the truck with my 240SX lower/FJ62 inlet hose combo for the upper hose, and mystery Ford hose (I picked up off the ground at the junkyard, looks new). lower hose. I made the coupling between the upper hoses, it also converts the 1-1/2” Toyota hose to the 1-1/4” Nissan hose which matches the water pump. It also gives a place for the steam port on the heads to go to.
Don’t mind the loose heater hoses. The couplers and H-fitting should be here tomorrow for those.

My exhaust parts showed up today too, which the exception of a merge collector and the rest of the V-bands I need (I ordered the wrong ones), I was able to start the downpipe.
Here’s a preview, I have more done but it was dark out and the pictures are bad.
The whole system will be stainless...

Electric fans will never keep up they suck. You should join the mechanical fan brigade. We have pancake breakfast first Tuesday of every month and we talk about how great mechanical fans are compared to crappy electric fans, then after we go to 4wheel parts and throw rocks n sticks at jeeps.

Without fail!

Made a little bit of progress past few weeks, still haven’t fired it up though, just been super busy and haven’t had one full day to devote to knocking out the small amount of wiring I need to do. I know, excuses.
I did however finish the downpipe and O2 sensors. Excuse the lack of purging. This junk isn’t worth the argon.
I also made a new mount for the fuse block and winch/battery solenoids.
I also fixed my spark plug wire to header clearance issue with money in the form of a set of MSD bendy wires. I think I’m going to throw a set of sleeves on them.

Here’s the plug wires I used:

Plus an upgrade (in this case larger diameter wire) is always welcome.

Here’s a virtually complete engine bay shot.

And some miscellaneous pictures of different systems. I don’t remember if I posted my heater line setup or not. The keen amongst you will notice that there are no normal worm gear hose clamps in sight. Happy to answer questions..

The 90* ceramic end wires work well too.

Yeah, I was going to get the OEM corvette wires or whatever that have the 90* on them but I was in the speed parts shop and just went for them.
