I'm re posting a trip that we have been invited to. See the link at the bottom of this post for updates.
Glenwood Springs and the Flat Tops Wilderness area. September 24-25. This is an informal event put on by some of our neighbors in Glenwood Springs.
This will be an overnighter on the Flat Tops. We have some local folks sporting some super tricked out crawlers who can take people on the super gnarly trails and then we'll have people just out on a casual stroll in the high country.
Plan on meeting in Glenwood the morning of Saturday the 24th, we'll head up the flat tops and get a good camping spot (we'll have it dialed in beforehand). From there people can head out on there own or get with some folks who have volunteered to lead the crawler-crew and/or the casual-cruiser-caravan. We'll reconvene around dinner time at camp, get the fire going, put some meat on the grill, have some frosty beverages, etc...
THIS WILL BE A FAMILY/KID FRIENDLY EVENT. The only thing I'd say is that if you bring kids and/or dogs PLEASE keep an eye on them. We don't want a pack of 20 unsupervised dogs running in front of vehicles or through camp nor do we want little kids falling off of a cliff or getting lost in the woods.
