I have a 2005 GX and have had the usual oxygen sensor errors all summer. They usually go off in the winter. So I go to reset them and this time don't have any oxygen sensor errors, I have a P0335. This, of course, is the crank position sensor. The truck runs perfect and shows no symptoms of trouble. I reset the code and it has not come back.

1. Should I replace the sensor?
2. Where is it? Anyone with a good picture?

It's very common for the wire to get damaged due to the routing not properly secured after timing belt changes.

You should fix the oxygen sensor. It might damage the catalytic converter and they are really expensive. Also any check engine light will disable stability control. That is even more important than SRS airbag.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to change the downstream o2 sensors soon.

However, is the Crank sensor a common problem? I haven't noticed it online. I did find a guy that corrected some wiring harness problems but I couldn't find the wiring harness on my GX: hence this post. Looks like it is in the lower right side of the engine in the above pic so I will check it out. Thanks for the help!

If I find no problem with the wiring harness, is the next step to replace the sensor? How tough is it. Looks like one bolt.

It's not common problem. The wiring damage are a lot more common. It's pretry hard to replace. It's behind the plastic timing belt cover. Probably the fan clutch need to be removed and the crankshaft pulley removed. The radiator most likely needed to be removed to remove the fan.
