Just posted the Jan/Feb 2006 issue cover with the FJ Cruiser on the cover. Looks awesome as it descends some Rubicon real estate under perfect skies.

Link is broken.

What level trails was it tested on?

Saw the cover, LOOKS GREAT!

Thanks, Cabron! Full-on ran the Rubicon from start to finish. We got Joe Bacal, who actually DROVE it from start to finish, to write a complete feature on every day he drove it over the Con. According to him, no one else on the trip drove it--even though he offered--they didn't want to break a $300K machine! Ours is probably the only from-the-FJ Cruiser-cockpit story out there about the Rubicon run!

All TLCA Members check out the latest issue of the Toyota Trails Magazine, Exclusive magazine of the Toyota Land Cruiser Association as it has an Exclusive article from first hand experience on the con about the FJ Cruiser. Written by our Toyota Land Cruiser Association President that was along on this experience. For more info please see www.tlca.org or contact a Toyota Land Cruiser Assoc Representative for more information.
Just an FYI my issue of the trails hit my doorstep yesterday.

It's great that there will be a bunch of detailed coverage on this awesome Toyota vehicle! In Trails, you get the spectator perspective, in 4WD Toyota Owner you get the Toyota test driver's account, and the two add up to the whole package!

It's awesome to read it--Joe wrote 2,653 words of text that really get into what it is like to drive the FJ Cruiser--and 23 photos. Here's one that we didn't publish, but is a killer Rubicon shot, showing Bill Burke spotting Joe and spectators watching the Voodoo Blue FJ crawl up one tough section with wheels flinging dirt:

Cheers and happy new year!

Still don't have mine, how long should it take to hit MD?

Ships from west coast, so can take up to three weeks. Ouch, I know, but the magazine rate is slow and inconsistent. let me know when it arrives. [chat off]

Great pics!

I look forward to reading the full article!

Got the issue - very nice write-up and article! Damn - I now do with this rag what I do when TT arrives.....sit down and read the issue cover to cover!!! Well done David!!!!!

Didn't hurt to see my truck sliding down the dunes in the Pismo pictures either. hehehe

Has anyone on the east coast got theirs yet? MD, VA, PA area?

Thanks, man I want to see this article :)

There's a flaw in the FJ's TRAc/locker design. I would hope it can be corrected before production. I'll start a new thread on it soon!

Just because it doesn't meet your personal preferences doesn't mean it's a "flaw."
