Good day!
My wife is interviewing for a professorship at Purdue. We may be taking the plunge and moving back north in a year or two. We are originally from Mpls/St. Paul, MN but have been in Raleigh/Durham, NC for the last 10 years.

I am curious as to what Lafayette has to offer. It seems somewhat small to me compared to what we are familiar with. How is the Indiana Cruiser scene? What are the employment prospects for a water resources engineer in the area?

I appreciate any input you can offer.

Thanks,
Robert

Only question I can answer is about the Cruiser scene; Our Cruiser scene is awesome, several great guys, several great Cruisers........though not everyone "gels" with us, most do.

Lafayette is real close to one of the best off road parks in the midwest.

Yea, you could sleep walk to the Badlands Offroad Park from there.
Layfayette is a typical college town with a little redneck thrown in, I like it but I also like redneck.
I'd live there.

Ditto to all so far.

If Lafayette is too small you could always pick a small town between Lafayette and Indy to live.

If you need some contacts in the water industry I'll check w/ my friend in Lafayette and see what contacts he has.

I lived in Laf for 2 years and worked as an engineer at CAT, glad I moved down to Indy, much more to do.(maybe it's the better job too). It's not all bad, just not much to do if you don't want to go on campus to the bars. Didn't have a cruiser in Laf but met a few of the local guys in Indy after I got mine this winter, and they are great guys.
