The above thread is closed as if it were in the FAQ sticky, but it's not in the sticky... Is there another section for these sorts of write ups that I have managed to avoid finding?

At a certain time not too long ago ALL threads with no posts in the previous 6 months were closed as a measure to control a certain spamming tactic. If you find a thread you want re-opened use the report icon/button (the inverted yield sign looking thing under a posters info on the left side of a post) to request it be re-opened and one of the mods will do it for you.
