Compressor size?

Getting everything together to paint my rig, and was wondering what size compressor should be used. I've heard that I should use a 60lb unit, but DAMN that thing is huge!! I am building a spray booth in my single car garage and cannot for the life of me figure out where I would put a compressor that size. Would I be sacrificing quality or run out of air and start shooting pee streams if I went with a 30lb tank? Does size really matter?

its not the size of the tank that matters as much as the cfm it puts out. if its not enough you will kept running out of air so look at the paint gun and see what size they say. usaully its 3 hp at the least and i cant remember the cfm sorry
