Hey everyone--the :princess: and I are getting the eff out of town tomorrow to grab a Christmas tree. We take the cruiser and the pups every year, but this is our first year here in Spokane and aside from a few overnighters up north, there's a whole lot we haven't explored.

We've got a permit to cut in the Colville NF. Does anyone have any recommendations on where we may find a nice place for a picnic, preferably with a view? Any good camping spots? We had a great spot in the cascades that provided some fun snow wheeling, a nice lookout spot to park and a great assortment of trees.

We're not staying overnight, but will be looking to do some winter camping here in the next few months, so any intel on that is appreciated as well.

We'll be in the '97, locked front/rear, armored all around, winch'd up front, no tire chains, and unimpressive A/T tires, if that helps with advice.

It was cold and wet, but mission accomplished.

Most of the unpaved roads were sheets of ice, so we didn't venture too far in. We went up a few switchbacks on NF500 off of Aladdin Rd and hiked for a bit, then grabbed us a tree.
