Coastal Cruiser Meeting, November 10,2005

Before the meeting, 10 members had dinner at the fabulous ABC Restaurant on #3 Road. None of us tried the steaks again, however the burgers were somewhat edible and Tums Antacid tabs were passed around later.

The club meeting convened at 7:45 with the following members present:
Greg B, Bruce D, Thomas M, Steve T, Paul K, Gary T, Rod McD, Mike McT, Rob Millson, Phil S, Marcin C, Brad R, Barry P, Nils K, Bill W.

Topics discussed:
- Treasurer’s report. Members contact Rob Millson for details.

- Christmas dinner. See IH8Mud Coastal Cruiser thread for details. We need to know what your meal choices are if you haven’t told Bill yet.

- Raffle at Christmas dinner will have the ICOM handheld V-8 VHF radio as the grand prize plus many other keen things like Toyota ice scrapers, club T-shirts, and more!

- A Basic Ham radio course will be arranged in the New Year if enough members show interest. We had two ICOM V-8’s at the meeting and they worked well between the ABC Restaurant and the CC clubhouse.

- ComWest radio store is out of stock in the ICOM V-8 until Nov. 25.

- NO MEETING on December 8, any club business can be discussed at the Christmas Party on Dec. 9.

- Nominations for club officers will be Dec. 9.

- Gary Telford can get heavy-duty cargo nets for $10. each.

- The raffle prizes were won as follows:
- Steve $50. Starbucks card, Nils K the turbo boost gauge, Rod M a million C.P. lantern, Mike McT the Deluxe Car Care package and also the Self Powered portable AM/FM radio, miscellaneous electrical cords and switches by Rob, Paul, and Bill, and finally, a beat-up old suitcase by Rob Millson that he promptly threw in the garbage.

- The meeting adjourned at 9:45 and members drifted slowly off into the misty drizzle of the Richmond winter night as the big birds, landing gear extended, careened overhead toward their destiny with Runway One….

Cool, thanks. Sorry I had to jet early from the meeting...time was flying and I had to get back to Abby for work.
