I can't believe the day has come that I am actually selling my beloved 3rd generation manual transmission 4Runner. Other than my 82 FJ40 it is the best and most favorite vehicle I have ever owned. The only reason I am selling it is because we just had our third (and final) child and my wife is under the impression that we now need a 3rd row seat vehicle so we just purchased a Sequoia. Unfortunately she wouldn't let me add a third row to the 4Runner so here we are.
It is a 1998 SR5 4x4 5 speed manual transmission with 164k miles. I bought it several years ago from the original owner sight-unseen from New York and had it shipped to me in Alabama. I searched everywhere for a manual transmission since they stopped making them after 2000 and they are extremely hard to find, especially in this good of shape.
When I bought it it only had 78k miles and I have treated it extremely well with no off-road use and religious maintenance and upkeep. It is charcoal in color and has leather seats, a power sliding sunroof, power windows, doors, and locks, remote locking system, Toyota VIP alarm system, CD, A/C (ice cold). It is bone stock with the exception of the aftermarket Pioneer CD player that the original owner changed out. I just bought a brand new set of A/T tires just over 1,000 miles ago. Everything works great. Engine runs perfectly and the transmission shifts smooth and the four wheel drive is incredible. You would know if you have ever driven one.
I haven't had a chance to take pictures of it yet but I will get them posted soon. I am located in Western Colorado but travel to Northern Utah every couple of weeks. It is extremely reliable and I have absolutely no concerns driving it for several hundred miles with three young children in the back on rural roads. I have no doubt in my mind that it will go for another 100,000 miles with basic proper maintenance.
I am asking $7200 but am negotiable. It is worth way more than that to me but it's time for me to move on.
