I have searched this site , CCOT, SOR ,4x4 canada ,Marlin Crawler etc etc. I have a 1981 bj42 ,3b diesel 4 speed. Is there any difference between gas and diesel as far as the clutch slave cylinder is concerned?? I also need a bell housing boot ,anyone have one new or good used one?? I see a listing for canadian unit ?? But mine was built in NZ as I am told by Tom "lostmarbles" .

Yes, there is a difference. I own a 1981 BJ42 as well (Canadian model) with the 3B engine. The clutch slave is different than on the gas FJ.

Go to 4 Wheel Auto Wholesale -LANDCRUISER PARTS (based in Edmonton, Alberta). They sell what you need. If unsure, give 'em a call, they were a great help to me when I needed parts.

Cheers,
Rob

New parts from Canada

Well , I did order new Toyota ,slave cyl, master cyl and clutch fork boot today. Diesel parts are different and EXPENSIVE just like diesel fuel - heh heh

Does anyone know a part number for an aftermarket clutch slave cylinder for an '81 BJ42. Is the clutch master cylinder the same for gas and diesel?

I have found from 81-83 BJ 41,42,and 44 use diffirent slaves the housing is the same but the bore size varies.
