We will bring beans and maybe some cheese

Ok, I'll reveal my pot luck dish, making a mango habanero coconut chicken and rice dish. First time making it so y'all are the guinea pigs!

That sounds epic.

What time can we check in to Tanglewood (In the Hood) on Friday?

Check in is 2PM but the site is open the days before and after us so I don't think anyone will mind if any of us arrive before that. I am aiming to leave by 12:30 so should get there around 3;30[-4.

We will probably be there for the 2 pm show up

We are good for a 2pm arrival.

I'll make some Tony's Jacal Mexican cabbage salad.

8lb if pork shoulder just went in the smoker.

Regear break in completed today. Good to go. See you all tomorrow.

Yessssss

I finally got a chance to get some pictures off of my phone. I didn't get that many pictures, it's tough handling 4 kids, but my son did and I'll get them up here shortly.

Most of departed Friday mid day. We were about 20 mins behind much of the group on the way up but somehow managed to get there after Justsendit arrived but before the bulk of us. Rathtar managed to pull the mountains with the AC on which was a good test of what the truck can do with 6 people and gear. I don't think we can pull the Sierra's as a family in just one rig but if we all go my dad is going to help haul stuff as well as Claire and Karleigh in his GX.

Speaking of Karleigh, our 9 month old, she turned out to be a chip off of the old block as far as camping. She did very well and loves off roading. When the truck stopped bouncing, she'd start bouncing to keep the fun going until the truck go moving again.

Camp Falcone. Now that Daniel and Garrett are scouts they can set and breakdown their own tents.

Friday dinner was good as always but this is the only picture I took the whole evening.

The next morning we got ready to wheel. Breakfast was fantastic, chorizo, potatoes... eggs... just rocking good.

RaptorPat and I got a chuckle off of how miserable the kids where helping out with dishes. If they only knew how many dishes they are going to clean over their lives...

On the way to meet up with Phulcrum's friend who lead the way to Tip Top Mountain we stopped at mine.

With the sea of activity and sometimes chaos that is my truck with the whole family I failed to even get cruiser-cam picks so fast forward to Tip Top Mountain. One notable thing, we had a stock Ranger FX4 with us. The road got progressively worse and the Ranger smartly turned around. It was their first time wheeling so Tim took them on some easier stuff. Better to spend money on modifications than repairs I always say.

The trip left us with a few takeaways.
- The first day, we were inundated with motorcycles riding around our tents and through camp. I confronted one and he said this camp is a trail. We had the kids move some fallen trees to divert them away from camp but was very put off by how brazenly violated the camp space with dust, etc... I guess this is normal for that site and I had not realized that prior to booking.
- I could not find our trusty camp stove so ordered another one.
- My trusty propane tree failed but fortunately Tim had a spare. I ordered a 3 way splitter with gauge which should be more durable and tell me the tank level.
- I now have a good gauge for how much fresh water is needed per day for the 6 of us.

It was a good shake down run for the sierras.
