I was thinking about all the cool tools I would like to have but never could afford or justify for once in a year or two use.

Would the club be interested in doing some type of club bought tools, paid for by club donations, sales, etc, that only members can use?

I was reading an older Toy Owner's that had a tire siper/groover that costs a lot for one person, but as a club, it could be possible. I would think a groover would be something everyone is interested in to customize tires or bring 20% treads tires to servicable use by regrooving the treads.

I can't justify buying one for myself but . . . with all our members, I would think a groover would get a workout along with other tools like tranny jacks, motor carriers, etc. Any interest?
 
I 3rd it ..... How bout just post up if you have an item that you wouldn't mind seeing again or finding when you do need it?
 
IF I win the lotery, I will buy a lift and a full shop that rivals extreme 4X4's. Until then,....

It was a thought I had after reading the article in the magazine. I know the club could use a lift, but to even find a place to put it is difficult. I have heard they can be bought for 800 bucks, but still, where to put it?
 
I figured if there was something many people needed to use but couldn't afford or justify buying for a one time use, maybe the club could pull money together and purchase the tool for use by club members. (Full Members in good standing of course)
 
How about we just pool together our hi lifts when needed & lift the whole rig off the ground...now we just need a volunteer to climb under :hillbilly:
 
how about any potential new member has to crawl under that rig if they want a membership?
 
Well, I tried dipstick for a while but it just didn't fit.

No problem with that. So then maybe it is something we could consider.

What are some tools people would wnt to see if a proggram for the club existed.

Mine is a groover obviously.

Although this is a good idea, the club doesn't have the money to buy tools and still be able to have nice raffle gifts, t-shirts, stickers, etc. I have also thought about this issue before, but I think it could potentially create more problems than it's worth.

Then you have the problem of where to keep and how to get it to somebody when they need it. Also, what if the person needs to tool but can't get a hold of the person who has it. There are a lot of things to consider. I think if there is a group of people that need a certain tool, then they can go in partners on it.
 
I agree on that, for example a friend of mine, my cousin and myself will be needing a bender so we're going to be pooling our money for that here in the next month or so
 
Screw the tools idea. Why dont we just have a pimpin club wheeler. We can take turns beating the club wheeler-we will farm her out every weekend. Kind of like socialism. Call it the Hoyota or the prostacruiser. Every year one of us donates their truck to the project. Dan donates his first cause he thought if it-sort of a trial run. ill print off the sigh up sheet. I want first dibs
