Closing the rock garden on Gold Mtn?

Gold Mtn trail in Big Bear also known as 3N69

I just got wind of this. Apparently there is a endangered root growing through the rocks or some crap someone found. So they are shutting it down Jan 22nd. We dont know if they are shutting down the whole entire route or just the rock garden section that cuts off at the "Y" 3N69A.

I've left a message with my forest service buddy to confirm any of this for me.

If it's true i'd like to go run it before it closes.

One of these I imagine...
Bear Valley sandwort (Arenaria ursina)
southern mountain buckwheat (Eriogonum kennedyi var. austromantanum)
ash-gray paintbrush (Castilleja cinerea)

I believe these are federally threatened, not endangered, but that status wouldn't change the ability to close the trail.
